Unmasking the Deception: Demanding Truth and Justice for Our Fallen Heroes… Part 1

4 min read

In the aftermath of the tragic events that unfolded over the past week, it is imperative that we scrutinize the glaring disparity between the irrefutable facts and the narrative being woven by Gambian authorities during their initial press conference, held four days after the harrowing incident.

Let us methodically unravel the sequence of events, critically examine the facts encompassing the incident, the subsequent actions taken by our authorities, and the narrative they are now presenting to the public.

At the outset of the investigation, it is pivotal to recall the precipitate response of the government’s spokesperson, Ebrima G Sankareh, who assertively claimed knowledge of the perpetrator and sought to establish a connection to the chairman of the Brikama Area Council.

He presented intricate details concerning the alleged killer’s movements, his presence at Yankuba Darboe’s court hearing, the retrieval of the vehicle used in the attack, and the discovery of combat boots.

Photographs of the vehicle involved in the attack circulated on social media, accompanied by an image of an unidentified man dressed in traditional attire (Haftan) and sporting dark glasses.

These images were disseminated as part of concerted efforts to gather information about the incident and identify the culprits responsible for the officers’ tragic deaths.

President Barrow, in response to this grievous tragedy, promptly condemned the shooting and publicly called for decisive action to apprehend the perpetrators. He even announced a one-million-dalasi reward for information leading to their capture.

However, the introduction of this substantial reward raised valid concerns that individuals might manipulate the situation for personal gain, potentially complicating the investigation and casting doubt on the underlying motives.

Notably, during the press briefing by senior police officers, there was no mention that the lady who reported the alleged killer’s presence in Cassamance played a pivotal role in leading them to the man she accused of being the assailant.

Her primary interest seemed conspicuously directed towards claiming the presidential reward, seemingly at any cost.

This raises pertinent questions: Are the authorities unequivocally confident that the individual they have in custody is indeed the real perpetrator, or were they inadvertently led astray by a duplicitous woman determined to secure financial gain?

As per our independent investigation, the individual arrested and accused of being the perpetrator, Ousainou Bojang, was entirely uninvolved in the shooting, let alone the killing of our officers.

Shockingly, he was ensnared as a pawn in Mama Jabbi’s sinister ploy, driven by her unwavering ambition to claim the one million Dalasis bounty.

Remarkably, KingSport meticulously dissected Mama Jabbi’s criminal machinations, exposing her cynical tactics aimed at framing an innocent man.

A damning audio recording, created by her in an attempt to deceive the authorities, reveals her desperate efforts to falsely implicate Ousainou Bojang in the tragic events.

Ironically, during the time of these events, Ousainou Bojang was grappling with distress due to the lack of communication with his European partner.

Importantly, Mama Jabbi was well aware that Ousainou Bojang had sought her assistance for spiritual guidance, with his visit to her residence having no connection whatsoever to her nefarious quest for pecuniary gain.

Given these revelations, many Gambians are now fervently calling for Mama Jabbi’s immediate arrest and her subsequent accountability for knowingly misleading our authorities and misdirecting our nation’s investigators away from the actual perpetrators of this dreadful crime.

It is profoundly disconcerting that such grave accusations were made devoid of concrete evidence.

The act of leveling false claims against individuals, as in this case, is not merely irresponsible but also morally reprehensible.

We remain steadfast in monitoring Mr. Bojang’s case and pledge to provide continued analysis in the forthcoming chapters of our investigation.

We implore the Gambian government to promptly release these innocent individuals from detention and to present an unadulterated account of those responsible for the tragic deaths of our dedicated officers.

The Gambian people vehemently demand transparency, truth, and justice. We categorically refuse to be deceived or to accept anything less than what we rightfully deserve.

The memories of our valiant officers shall not be buried beneath the weight of ineptitude and corruption within the Barrow Administration.

Justice must not only be served but seen to be served diligently, and those genuinely accountable for one of the most heinous crimes in our nation’s history must be held unwaveringly accountable.

May Allah bestow solace upon the grieving families and grant the departed officers the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus.
